These families have faced significant adversity such as a job loss, the death of a spouse/parent, the loss of their home due to a fire or natural disaster, a major medical issue with a child or parent, or other hardship that makes things financially difficult for them during the holiday season. Donations are raised through business sponsorships, community donations, and raffles held by The Chocolate Shoppe throughout the holiday season. The family (families) that are chosen are gifted these funds anonymously to protect their identity and give them a sense of privacy as they face these difficult times.

Businesses that are able to contribute $100 are mentioned in our monthly newsletter in November and December, and are thanked in multiple social media posts throughout the holiday season.
